The Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance (JIPM) is an organization that specializes in the dissemination of best practices in maintenance management and is thus primarily established in the manufacturing industry.
Since its foundation in 1964, the JIPM has played a key role in the development of methods aimed at improving the efficiency, reliability, and safety of manufacturing processes through effective maintenance. This includes, for example, the JIPM development of the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) system.
With the TPM Award (Total Productive Maintenance Award), the JIPM recognizes companies for their achievements in implementing appropriate practices.
