Explanation: Intent data

“Intent data” is information that reflects the behavior and intentions of users or potential customers on the internet. It provides indications of people's interest in topics, products or services. Intent data can be assigned to two categories in particular. On the one hand, “explicit intent data”, which results from direct, intentional actions by users (e.g. contact forms and content downloads). The second is “implicit intent data”, which is derived from indirect behavioral patterns. Examples of this include clicking on ads, visiting certain websites or interacting with social media content.
