Explanation: Human-in-the-Loop (HITL)

The term “human-in-the-loop” (HITL) refers to a concept in the development and application of automated systems. This primarily relates to the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). Here, people are actively involved in decision-making processes, for example when checking, validating or correcting tasks and decisions.

The use of HITL is intended, for example, to ensure that automated systems work more accurately and are better able to handle unexpected situations. The concept can be applied in different process phases, such as data acquisition, continuous monitoring of systems or training of data-based models.
